The arrested participants of the “silent protest” action of July 20 in Minsk were met near the detention centre at Akrestsina street in the evening of July 30, including Alena Likhavid, the mother of activist of the Movement For Freedom (MFF) Mikita Likhavid. People were clapping their hands, when each of the political prisoners appeared, and were chanting “Long Live Belarus!” Those who were released from prison were glad to see each other, their relatives, and friends.
Among other participants of the “silent protest” action of July 20, Alena Likhavid, mother of political prisoner – activist of the Movement For Freedom (MFF) Mikita Likhavid, was sentenced to 10 days of arrest.
The quantity of participants of the “silent protest” action in Minsk on June 29 didn’t increase as compared to the previous action that was held on June 22. Rather, it decreased.
President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek called on the Belarusian authorities to release without delay the participants of the silent protest action detained in Minsk on June 22. “I condemn the Belarusian authorities’ violent prohibition of peaceful demonstrations that took place in Minsk in the afternoon of June 22”, quotes Buzek’s press service his words.
Baranavichy supporters of the Movement For Freedom (MFF) together with other non-indifferent town residents came in the main square of the town on June 22.
